A few months have passed since we last attended the Cultivate Workplace Relationships course from 9 to 11 March 2010. SeraphCorp, through Carol, has asked us to share on the following:
a. Did you manage to apply the competencies acquired during the programme at your workplace in the last two months?
b. Do you still find the learning outcomes (knowledge and skills acquired) relevant to the business and operations at your workplace?
c. How has the learning outcome/s impacted your performance at the workplace?
d. Any suggestions or comments about the transfer of learning to the workplace.
Let’s talk about it here!

Seriously… I still have an outstanding to-do item on my personal list called “Journal the two learning activities in the first two days of CWR course by SeraphCorp” because I missed the first activity (I was late, remember?!) but have not gotten to doing them yet!
But the course prompted me to be more pro-active in making efforts to meet with one individual that I’ve been meaning to talk with about internet ministry, and we actually spent some time at his home a couple of weeks ago.
So yes, there’s still a LOT to review and apply. Look forward to hear from others here too

/ June 3, 2010One thing I resonated with during the CWR course is the concept of “Group Think” – Who you have on your team says a lot about you. Culture is determined by the team make-up.
And linked to that, is the implication that diversity is looked upon as non-essential because it takes much more effort and commitment to work with people who are different from you. Remember… ” Different is not wrong, different is just different. ”
@victortoh : Want to add to your comment on lunch… diversity is beyond nationality (race, language, etc.)
There are the less obvious dimensions… of human qualities. I think of age group, life stage, years in ministry, skills, work experience, etc. Haha… you have many lunch buddies to choose from!
It is not possible to remember all the things, so reviewing and going back to the notes, and hopefully this community blog, will help us.
I was reminded, going through my notes on an action point (pg 38 of the notes), of naming someone with whom I would like to have a “winning relationship” with. So… got to get going on that!
Altogether now… practise CPR (Conscious/Planned/Routine), “hoo hoo hoo”… in building relationships.
